Eight years after their divorce, BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball and her ex-husband Norman Cook are said to be “inseparable,” after recently being spotted together.
After an 18-year marriage, the former couple memorably said that they had “come to the end of our rainbow,” but have seemingly maintained their close bond.
However, a source told Daily Mail they are “spending more time together than ever,” as the DJ deals with the death of her mother Julia Peckham.
This marked her lengthy absence from her popular breakfast show, which BBC bosses supported and insisted that Zoe should “take all the time she needs”.
During her break, the 53-year-old was photographed being comforted by her ex, the renowned DJ known as Fatboy Slim.
One local friend in Hove, East Sussex, told the outlet: “They always seem to be together”.
Another insider said that the pair have started going to their son Woody’s DJ-ing gigs together, something they didn’t do when Zoe was with her previous boyfriend, Michael Reed.
The former couple have said to have grown closer this year as Zoe copes with the loss of her beloved mother Julia, who died in April just months after being diagnosed with cancer.
Her tragic passing caused Zoe to take a leave of absence from her radio show, and with the news of her friends Lauren Laverne and Jamie Theakston also being diagnosed with cancer, it has been a difficult time.
But Norman is said to be a rock for her. Just last month, it was revealed that she had sold her idyllic £2 million countryside home based in the Sussex village of Newick, which she purchased in August 2020 for £2,025,000.
It was reported that she has relocated to a townhouse between Brighton and Hove, which is closer to the father of her two children.
The pair met in 1997 when Zoe flew out to Ibiza to collaborate with Norman on a show for BBC Radio 1. They married two years later in 1999 and welcomed son Woody in the year 2000, before welcoming a daughter in 2010.
But their marriage wasn’t smooth sailing as in 2003, the pair briefly separated after Norman, now 61, discovered Zoe had been unfaithful with his friend, who was also in the DJ industry.
However, it seems that the pair have moved past their differences and are closer than ever, with the TV star leaning on him for support during her difficult year.
