Leny Yoro is the exciting young option Manchester United are pinning their hopes on this summer. The supremely talented 18-year-old is among three prime targets for Erik ten Hag and key figures behind the scenes as they plot a defensive overhaul at Old Trafford and beyond.
United also have their sights on Jarrad Branthwaite and Matthijs de Ligt with work to do on all three deals. An offer for Yoro has been accepted by his current club Lille.
However, with other options potentially on the table for him – not least from Real Madrid – United must bide their time while looking at what else is on the market themselves. Here, we take a closer look at the latest headlines and news on Yoro’s proposed transfer:

United bid for Yoro accepted by Lille
The wheels are in motion for United as they attempt to overhaul their defensive options this summer. The Manchester Evening News understands an offer – worth between €60million and €70million – has been accepted by Lille as the player considers his next move with Liverpool and Spanish giants Real Madrid lurking.
Yoro is expected to leave the French Ligue 1 side this summer. A switch to the Santiago Bernabeu is thought to be preferred by the highly-rated teenager, who only has 12 months left to run on his contract.
PSG withdraw from race to sign Yoro
Despite ongoing competition from Liverpool and Real Madrid – for example – PSG are said to have withdrawn any interest in Yoro and will not be making a formal swoop for the teenager this summer. That’s according to the latest reports from RMC Sport – which notes down United’s intent to sign him.
Real looking at alternatives to Yoro
In another boost to United, there is seemingly a reluctance from Real to do business with Lille at this juncture and that leaves the Premier League giants in pole position to get their man. French journalist Nabil Djellit indicates that discussions between United, the player and his agent remain ongoing while Real play the waiting game.
The reigning Champions League winners are considering alternative options. Lazio defender Mario Gila is currently being earmarked as a main target, especially so with the 23-year-old having played for their Academy sides before.
Real have, so far, failed to match the fee United are willing to pay. They have, reportedly, set aside just £29.5million for Yoro and are not thinking about increasing that figure in the near future.
