Xbox Game Pass adds another two games today

Must read

As revealed in June’s second wave of new games coming to Game Pass, today is all about SteamWorld Dig! Xbox Game Pass adds SteamWorld Dig and SteamWorld Dig 2 today, bringing a whole bunch of Metroidvania-adventure platforming to the subscription service.

SteamWorld Dig (Cloud and Console)

SteamWorld Dig is a platform mining adventure game with Metroidvania elements. Playing as a lone mining steambot called Rusty, you will need to dig your way through the earth and gather riches to help an old mining town that is in need. However, while there might be plenty of treasures underground, there are terrorrs too…

According to estimates, unlocking all 14 SteamWorld Dig achievements will take around ten hours. Saying that, though, the list does have a fair few tricky achievements, so we recommend checking out our SteamWorld Dig walkthrough for a helping hand with those.

SteamWorld Dig 2 (Console and PC)

SteamWorld Dig 2 makes its return to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass today after leaving the service back in June 2020. The sequel is essentially a meatier version of SteamWorld Dig, with more emphasis on story, refined mechanics, a greater number of boss fights, and more level variety.

If you’re thinking about attempting to pop all 34 SteamWorld Dig 2 achievements, you will need to set aside around 20 hours for the 1,000G. The completion here looks pretty tough, with just 129 of the 24,000 TrueAchievements members who have started the game managing to unlock all of SteamWorld Dig 2’s achievements.

At the end of June, Xbox Game Pass loses five games, including Stranded Deep and FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch, so make sure you grab any achievements you need from those before they drop out of the service.
