X-FACTOR star Jaymi Hensley was heartbroken last night after his fiance Olly Marmon fell to his death from a hotel window just weeks before their wedding.

Union J singer Jaymi, 34, was arrested on suspicion of murder after Olly, 33, plunged more than 30ft from their top-floor suite on Sunday night.

But no further action was taken against the heartbroken singer, watched by 10 million viewers on the hit ITV show, as police passed the case to the coroner.

Officers appealed for any footage after Olly fell through a small open window onto a footpath at Wellingborough, Northants.

Guests at the Hind Hotel rushed outside to try to save Olly but the stylist was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Jaymi who had a UK top ten album after coming fourth on X Factor in 2014, was being comforted over the loss of the man he described as “my strength and stay all these years”.

A source close to the pop star’s family said the tragedy was “unbelievable”.

Olly’s death is said to have come as the pair were reunited after a period apart – in preparation for their wedding next month.

A source said: “The whole thing is just devastating. It’s a terrible tragedy. The police and ambulance crews were there in minutes, but it was just too late.”

Detectives confirmed they were no longer treating the case as murder following the results of a forensic post-mortem confirming the death was caused by fall injuries.

It meant Jaymi Hensley was released without charge.

DCI Johnny Campbell said: “It is only right that an incident such as this is treated with the utmost seriousness, to make sure we have done all we can to understand what has happened, and to get the answers those left behind need and want.

“In Olly’s case I can confirm the evidence we have examined did not support his death as a homicide, which has now been further confirmed by the results of the preliminary forensic post-mortem report.

“Our initial findings and decision have been explained to Olly’s family who will continued to be supported by Northamptonshire Police as they mourn the loss of their loved one.

“A 34-year-old man arrested in connection with this incident has been released without charge and is now assisting the investigation team with the coroner’s process.”

Olly’s family paid tribute to the 33-year-old as a “spiritual, gentle soul” who was “beautiful both inside and out.”

Olly’s mum Julie said: “Words cannot express the devastation and heartbreak I feel over the loss of my beautiful youngest son Oliver, Olly to his friends.

“I can’t believe I am having to write this. No mother should have to do this.

“The relationship I had with Oliver was so special, he was my best friend.

“We spoke every single day. He called me mummy, he used to call me his guardian angel.

“Oliver was so caring, loving, quiet and always put others before himself.

“He was a very talented hairdresser, and it was a passion he took seriously.”

Olly’s dad Leigh Marmon said: “My darling Oliver, I cannot believe that I am writing this. I would give my life to have saved yours.

“I am struggling with every emotion you can think of, grief, anger, guilt, the list goes on.

“I know that you knew how much you were loved. I was so proud of you and everything you achieved. You have been to places that I can only dream of.

“Whatever you put your mind to, you achieved. When you were younger you were a talented sportsperson, musician and of course, hairdresser – your dream job.

“You won medals and awards in gymnastics and hairdressing.

“Your life was too short, but you squeezed so much into it. You were so kind-hearted, a gentle soul who was just so beautiful inside and out.”

‘RAY OF SUNSHINE’

Olly’s older brother Ben Marmon wrote: “Oliver Marmon you are my little ray of sunshine. You are my best friend. You radiate joy and excitement to all around you.

“You are full of creativity and spontaneous ideas for fun. You are the light of happiness in every room.

“You are so kind and caring and happy to walk in anyone’s shadow as long as everyone else is smiling.

“You are the bravest soul and no matter how much you felt different you were always so loved by everyone. Never underestimate the difference you made and the lives you touched.

“I didn’t tell you enough, but I was immensely proud of you. Always my best friend and my little Bruva bear.”

Olly and Jaymi had been together since 2009 – before Jaymi starred on X Factor alongside Rylan Clark, Ella Henderson and series winner James Arthur, in 2012.

They had initially planned to marry as early as 2014 and were finally set to tie the knot next month.

The couple were openly devoted to one another – regularly posting online.

Just two weeks ago Olly posted sun-kissed images of himself and Jaymi on holiday in Marseille.

Days earlier, they visited Scandinavia on a P&O fjords cruise – with Jaymi thought to have performed to passengers on board.

Olly uploaded a picture of them together alongside the message: “Norway! You were epic! Over and out! Round 2 on Arvia Mediterranean bound!

“Best week with my man and 9 weeks and counting until we say I do!”

LOVING RELATIONSHIP

On Jaymi’s Instagram page on September 24 last year he posted a gushing tribute to his fiancee.

The singer captioned a picture of him kissing a beaming Olly on the cheek with the message: “14 years together and 1 year until “I do”!

“Happy anniversary @ollymarmon! I think of many beautiful quotes when I think of our relationship so far, but one that really sums it all up for me is from Her Late Majesty QE2,

“He has, quite simply, been my strength and stay all these years”! I love you irrevocably and so excited that In 365 days we will finally be Mr & Mr!”

Jaymi – full name James Hensley – was one of the founding members of Union J in 2011 – although the group was originally a trio known as Triple J.

They auditioned for the ninth series of The X Factor, becoming Union J after fellow contestant George Shelley joined Jaymi, and bandmates JJ Hamblett and Josh Cuthbert.

The group signed to Sony Music subsidiary RCA Records, releasing debut single ‘Carry You’ in June 2013.

Their self-titled debut studio album followed in October 2013 and peaked at number 6 on the UK Albums Chart.

They left RCA Records in April 2014 and signed with Epic Records. A second LP, named ‘You Got It All – The Album’ came out the following December.

George left the group in 2016 before Josh walked out two years later – leaving Jaymi and JJ as a duo, before the pair officially disbanded in 2019.

They announced a reunion show at London Palladium in 2022 to celebrate Union J’s 10th anniversary and a comeback tour – only for Jaymi to sensationally quit ahead of the gigs.
