WWE Smackdown Recap: Stage Is Set For Newest Member Of The Bloodline

Must read

The Bloodline story isn’t over by a long shot.

Friday’s episode of Smackdown didn’t just continue to cook the beef on arguably the most significant storyline in professional wrestling history, it set the table for yet another new entrant.

Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso continued solidifying their reconciliation since Bad Blood, but Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa, and Tama Tonga outnumbered them. After Solo scored a pinfall win over Jimmy, thanks to distractions from the rest of Bloodline 2.0, the latter began to beat him down.

Reigns came to Jimmy’s aid, but he was overcome by the numbers game and received a Samoan Spike from Solo to finish the skirmish. As the show ended, Jimmy was sitting in the ring with Reigns, repeating the concept he told the OTC at the show’s opening, “we need help.”

Jimmy opened the show and was joined by Reigns in the ring. Jimmy attempted to insinuate the need to bring his twin brother, Jey Uso, back into the fold. Reigns headed off the suggestion by saying, “no yeet,” much to the South Carolina crowd’s chagrin.

At some point, it’s clear that Jey, who has since won his first singles title, will rejoin his twin and Reigns. Since the Bloodline broke up, Jey has skyrocketed to superstardom in the WWE. He consistently generates pops on par with world champions and seemingly has a lock on the WWE’s youngest demographic of fans.

Expect Reigns to step aside to allow Jey an opportunity to shine within the reformed Bloodline. Even when that happens, the trio will still be outnumbered. Roman’s new faction will need a fourth, and all signs point to Hikuleo filling that spot.

Hikuleo is the 6-foot-8 brother of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa and the son of WWE legend Haku. Like Tama Tonga and others, Hikuleo has wrestled extensively on the independent scene and in Japan.

He reportedly signed with WWE in July. While Hikuleo has been an excellent heel in the past, it seems he would best fit as a face alongside The Usos and Reigns.

In case you’re wondering how strong Hikuleo is in the ring, here is a look at a match he had with the talented Kevin Knight to give you an idea.

Hikuleo’s size should give him some presence on screen, and he should be put over well with the most well-known members of the Bloodline.

It would not be a shock to see Hikuleo debut in time to help Roman and Co. take on Bloodline 2.0 at Survivor Series.

Here is a look at all of the results from Friday’s episode of Smackdown.

  • LA Knight defeated Carmelo Hayes to retain the WWE United States Championship
  • Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair defeated Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson to retain the WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championship
  • Naomi defeated WWE Women’s World Champion Nia Jax in a non-title match
  • Solo Sikoa defeated Jimmy Uso

There were appearances from Raw Superstars like Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan to help hype the Crown Jewel premium live event.
