Tributes from wrestlers have begun flooding in after Sid Eudy, also known as Sycho Sid and Sid Vicious among other monikers, passed away at age 63.
Eudy’s son Gunnar posted on Facebook: ‘Dear friends and family, I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after battling cancer for several years. He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed.
‘We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this loss. Details for a memorial service will be shared soon. Thank you for your support.’
Among the wrestlers who paid tribute include many former WWE champions and other personalities from around the wrestling world.
‘Without Sid Vicious, I don’t think my brother and I would have made it to WCW,’ tweeted WWE Hall-of-Famer Booker T.

WWE Hall-of-Famer Diamond Dallas Page posted, ‘Wow, I’m so sorry to hear that Sid Eudy has passed on.
‘Sid had such a presence. When Sid Vicious stepped through the curtain, you knew you were looking at someone special. He had it all and he looked as impressive as anyone to ever enter the squared circle.
‘I had no idea he was fighting a battle with cancer. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. RIP brother.’
Former WWF Intercontinental Champion Marc Mero posted, ‘So sad to hear that friend and wrestling superstar Sid Eudy (Sid Vicious & Sid Justice) has passed away at 63 from cancer.
‘He was one of the first wrestlers I wrestled when I was trying out for WCW. What a great guy. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and his millions of fans.

‘We lost one of the good ones today, my good friend Sid Vicious,’ wrote WWE Hall-of-Famer Stevie Ray. ‘I send my condolences and he will never be forgotten.’
‘Sad to hear of the passing of Sid Eudy aka Sid Vicious. Quite the attraction!,’ wrote ring announcer Jim Ross.
Standing at a massive 6-foot-9, he established a memorable legacy as a six-time world champion – including twice in the WWF and twice in WCW.
The WWE’s official website writes that, if not for a leg injury in 2001, ‘Sid’s successes would likely have stacked up against the best in WWE history.’
