Wrexham have changed striker Paul Mullin’s profile picture on their website following his surprise cameo in the recently-released Marvel movie Deadpool and Wolverine.
The blockbuster stars the club’s co-owner Ryan Reynolds as one of the titular characters, while Hugh Jackman reprises his role as the prickly X-Men veteran.
Eagle-eyed cinema goers on opening weekend would have spotted one member of the Deadpool corps with a red dragon emblazed across his chest.
And in another example of the surreal reality the club’s players and supporters now live in after the arrival of Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020, the character was played by none other than their star striker Mullin.
Keen to get in on the hilarity, the club have since changed the 29-year-old’s profile picture on their website to reflect the Welshpool character he played in the film.

Mullin, who has scored 88 goals in 122 games for the Red Dragons, was not the only Wrexham player to appear in the MCU’s newest flick, as team-mate Ollie Palmer also made an short appearance as a bar goer.
