Woodcarvers show off their skills at shopping precinct

Woodcarvers gathered at Abingdon’s shopping precinct to show off their skills.

The Oxford & District Woodcarvers is a club for woodcarvers of all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced.

The club has been running for 18 years and was founded by Brian Eastoe.

Since Mr Eastoe’s retirement, Jeff Wheeler has taken over as tutor and he led a session on Saturday at Unit 24 in the Bury Street precinct.

He was joined by woodcarvers Jess Roberts, Chris Williams and Linda Dales.

The club has been involved in many exhibitions and demonstrations over the years including Art in Action, the Newbury Show and Countryfile Live, Blenheim.

It welcomes new members and meets on Thursday evenings between 7pm and 9pm during term time at John Mason School in Wootton Road.
