Anyone who has been ghosted knows that it’s a pretty sh**ty feeling.
And if you haven’t had that misfortune while dating then wow, it must be nice to be you.
For those lucky chosen ones who aren’t aware, ghosting is essentially when you cut off a relationship (or situationship) by suddenly cutting off communication without any explanation. Yeah, harsh.
So, when this woman stopped hearing back from a guy after dating for a few weeks, she just assumed it had happened to her.
However, she ended up later learning the tragic truth on Instagram.
Haley Woloshen met Cody Bryant on holiday in Hawaii in 2022, quickly forming a connection after realising they lived nearby one another back in Los Angeles.
They spent a few weeks together before she began to believe he had decided to ghost her.

Taking to the internet in a bid to figure out why he’d disappeared from her life, she found a GoFundMe campaign set up for Bryant by his family.
Turns out, he had been hit by his car while riding a moped in Ibiza in September 2022, leaving him in a coma after suffering a traumatic brain injury.
And this all dawned on Haley when she found out more about his state on Instagram.
After he spent months of recovery at the Rancho Rehab Center in LA, the pair reunited.
But it all got very 50 First Dates as it became clear that because of the injury, Cody had completely forgotten their time together.
“I actually had no memory of our pre-accident connection,” he wrote in a TikTok. However, it seems it was meant to be between the two as they began to rekindle things. “Neither of us expected it, but feelings started to build,” he wrote. “I joke that she won me over a second time.”

The accident left the American with hemiplegia (partial paralysis) and he had to undergo speech, occupational and physical therapy.
And despite doctors worried he would never walk again, Cody recently managed to go on a ‘world-class two-day trek up a volcano in Guatemala’.
“Each step was a victory, and reaching the top meant more than I can express in words,” he shared in an update to his GoFundMe page in April.
“I am determined to continue to summit mountains like this (literally and figuratively) in my recovery.”
Despite ‘missing a lot of the entire year’ before his accident from his memories, he thanks Haley for her ‘cheerleading skills’ and as his girlfriend, thanks her for helping his recovery.
