Wimbledon star embarrasses British wildcard Lily Miyazaki with brutal double bagel win in just 50 minutes

Lily Miyazaki has suffered the humiliation of a double-bagel loss in the second round of Wimbledon.

The British No 4 pulled off an incredible win in her opening match at Wimbledon earlier this week against Tamara Korpatsch.

She dropped just three games as she romped to victory against the German tennis star.

That set up a tough second-round match against No 14 seed Daria Kasatkina, who won the Eastbourne title last week.

And the Russian tennis star showed no mercy to blitz past Miyazaki without dropping a single game.

It is the first time a player in the women’s singles draw has lost with a double bagel at Wimbledon since 2015 when Angelique Kerber defeated Carina Witthoft.

There’s only been two other double bagel matches at Grand Slam events this year with Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek achieving the feat on their way to wins in Australia and Roland Garros respectively.

Harriet Dart was the last British star to be double-bageled in a Grand Slam in the 2019 Australian Open to Maria Sharapova.

Despite the defeat, Miyazaki will climb up the rankings close to her career-high ranking.
