Prince William’s new beard has sent royal fans into a frenzy as he enters a “new era”.
The future King first showed off his summer stubble in a video where he and his wife Kate praised the achievements of Team GB’s athletes after the Paris Olympics back in August.
Now, the new look has made its in-person debut as William visited an exhibition about homelessness, in the 42-year-old’s first post-summer engagement.
He visited the Saatchi Gallery for the Homelessness: Reframed exhibition which looks to bring to life the issues surrounding those living on the streets.
The Prince of Wales founded Homewards in June 2023 as part of his mission to end homelessness and change the narrative and stereotypes around the crisis.
The exhibition features “exceptional works” from UK and foreign artists including Martin, David Tovey, Simone Brewster and Surfing Sofas – with Paul Foster, the Saatchi Gallery’s director, urging the public to take a look “with an open mind”.
Another eye-catching display in addition to the art was William’s beard, which left many royal fans’ heart rates rising.
Whilst the stubble caught attention in his August 11 video for Team GB, he later shaved it off after he was snapped at Balmoral fresh-faced.

Pleased by its re-emergence, royal fans flocked to social media to gush. “He’s having a full glow-up,” one user said, whilst another cheekily quipped: “Someone call the fire department.”
“Not only does he use his platform for good, helping the homeless and Earthshot, but he is seriously hot!!” commented another.
Another added: “What are my eyes seeing?! Prince William is back and has a new Daddy’s beard look and I love this era.”
In Prince Harry’s memoir Spare, he claimed that William was jealous of his younger brother’s beard – a perk apparently denied to William.

He said that William became “livid” after Harry refused to shave his beard off before his wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018, with the duke claiming that he had already asked the late Queen Elizabeth for permission.
“He wouldn’t let it go. At one point he actually ordered me, as the heir speaking to the spare, to shave,” he said.
Aside from showing off his new look, Prince William also reunited with an old pal at the exhibition.
The future King and Dave Martin, a Big Issue seller, first became acquainted with one another when William quietly joined Martin to help sell copies of the magazine on the streets of central London.
Following their first meeting, the pair now exchange Christmas cards and Martin has even interviewed the future King for the Big Issue.
