Jeff Brazier has revealed why he’s taking part in Celebrity Race Against the World season 2 with his son Freddie, rather than Bobby.
Bobby, who shot to fame in EastEnders and further in Strictly Come Dancing, stayed at home while his dad took his sibling from the Amazon to the Andes (or, if they were eliminated early, somewhere closer).
As revealed on tonight’s (August 14) episode of The One Show, the reason is that Freddie makes a good travel companion, and Bobby does not.

“I remember taking the boys to climb some mountains in Scotland,” he explained. “We had a guide. We wanted to go off the beaten path, he took us up a cliff face. It was literally torrential rain, wasn’t ideal. We had our waterproofs on but those were all, sort of, leaking.
“Bobby was literally like hating me, after about two minutes, ‘Get me down!!’, and the guy was like, quite matter of fact, ‘the only way off is like seven hours like the way, over the top.’ Freddie just, like, got on with it, [he] was like a machine.”

The other celebrities competing in this year’s season are BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills and his husband Sam Vaughan, Ted Lasso‘s Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen, and model and Piranha 3D actor Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy Parisi.
Good Morning Britain host Alex Beresford and dad Noel won the inaugural Celebrity Race Across the World last year, after trekking across Europe.
The most recent civilian season wrapped up in May, and the BBC has confirmed that a fifth run is in the works.
Celebrity Race Across the World season 2 is currently airing Wednesday nights at 9pm on BBC One, while The One Show airs every weekday at 7pm Both shows can be streamed on BBC iPlayer,
