The summer of love is officially over and a new couple have been crowned winners of Love Island. After two months of grafting, flirting and chatting in the candy-coloured villa in Mallorca, XXX were named the winners of ITV’s reality dating show last night.
This season of Love Island has certainly been filled with plenty of romance and drama. For one thing, it was the first season that featured a “celebrity contestant” in the form of TOWIE’s Joe Essex — although he almost made it to the final, he and his partner, Jessy, were mercilessly dumped by their fellow islanders before the final.
So who won Love Island 2024? Here we list out all the Love Island finalists and where they placed, including this year’s winning couple.
Love Island 2024 winners: Mimii and Josh
We have our 2024 Love Island winners: Mimii and Josh!
Mimii was an OG islander who entered the villa on day one. She quickly coupled up with Ayo, and the pair seemed to be going strong until Casa Amor, when Ayo met and swiftly fell for Jess. Luckily, Josh entered the villa soon after and proved to be Mimii’s knight in shining armour. He made her waffles on the terrace! He gave her a chocolate rose! He bought her a crocheted teddy bear! He didn’t bat an eye at the “secret mission” debacle! We were very here for all of it.
Alongside our winners Mimii and Josh were finalists Ciaran and Nicole, Matilda and Sean and Jess and Ayo.
Let’s take a look back through each of their journeys this summer.
2nd place: Ciaran and Nicole
Every year, Love Island seems to produce one couple who get together at the very beginning and stick to each other like glue. This year, that couple was Ciaran and Nicole. The two Welsh contestants quickly bonded and have stuck to each other since the very first recoupling. Over the weeks, Nicole has slowly opened up and learned to trust Ciaran — not that he every really gave her any reason not to, other than the crime of being a rugby player. They have said, “I love you,” they have become boyfriend and girlfriend — they have practically planned to move in together.
3rd place: Matilda and Sean
Sean’s defining feature is that he sells sweets for a living. It took a while for the so-called candyman to find a partner willing to put up with his penchant for comparing people to sugary treats. Finally, Matilda entered the villa after about two weeks and the pair hit it off. Despite Sean’s infamous antics in Casa Amor and his seeming obsession with calling out other couples, the pair have stuck together and eventually made it to the final.
