Manchester City are to hold a victory parade for the fourth consecutive year as they celebrate the club’s historic Premier League title win.
The Blues will take to the streets on Sunday (May 26) to show off their silverware in a rite-of-passage victory tour around the city after they became the first team in the history of English football to win four consecutive league titles.
The parade is expected to last for two hours from 7.30pm until around 9pm owing to the Greater Manchester Run taking place earlier in the day with runners finishing the race along Deansgate.

Huge crowds are expected to turn out to see the four-time champions lift the Premier League trophy from an open-top bus that will travel from the National Football Museum through Cathedral Gardens and along Deansgate, stopping at several points along the way. Supporters have been asked to travel light, with no big bags and no glass bottles.
Manchester City Council has warned that there will be a significant number of road closures and extensive bus diversions throughout the day due to the Great Manchester Run and parade.
The council has said the tram will be the best choice of travel on Sunday with many stops located close to spectating points along the parade route, notably Victoria, Shudehill, St Peter’s Square and Deansgate-Castlefield. On Sunday, services will operate every 15 minutes across all lines.
Exchange Square tram stop will close from 5pm, with trams diverting from Victoria to St Peter’s Square via Shudehill and Market Street.
Bus users are advised to check with their operator to see whether routes or times may be impacted. A bus diversion guide is available online at tfgm.com/man-city-parade.
Anyone making a journey by road is asked to check the map of the route and the full road closures list. The closures are likely to cause congestion and delays.
A list of road closures over the weekend in connection with the Great Manchester Run is already available online at manchester.gov.uk/roadclosures and will be added to ahead of the weekend with any further road closures deemed necessary in order to facilitate the Manchester City parade.
Councillor Bev Craig, leader of the council, said: “Congratulations to Manchester City. Being crowned premier league champions once again and for an astonishing fourth year in a row is an incredible achievement by the club and its players, showing once again that Manchester’s world class sporting credentials really are second to none.
“We know how much this means to fans of the club young and old – not just in Manchester but around the globe – and the homecoming parade on Sunday promises to be an unmissable night to remember for fans and players alike as they celebrate this historic title win together.”
