With the launch of Black Ops 6 Warzone Season 1, players were thrilled to see Rebirth Island make its comeback. However, the map was quickly removed from the Resurgence playlist, leaving many asking, “When will Warzone Rebirth Island return?”

Rebirth is one of the most iconic maps in Call of Duty’s history, celebrated for its intense, fast-paced gameplay, compact layout, and nonstop action. But its integration into BO6 Warzone has been far from smooth, with technical issues marring the fan-favorite map.

If you’re eagerly awaiting the chance to jump back into this adrenaline-packed map, here’s what we know so far about its removal, current status, and potential return date.

Why was Rebirth Island removed?

Season 1 launched on November 14, 2024, with the returning large map Urzikstan and the new Resurgence map Area 99 available for play. Four days later, Rebirth was reintroduced as part of the Resurgence playlist.

Unfortunately, players encountered significant issues while playing on Rebirth, particularly with audio—most notably, inconsistent footstep audio—which is crucial for competitive gameplay.

In response, Activision announced via X (formerly Twitter): “We’ve removed Rebirth Island from the playlist while we investigate map-specific issues. Other maps and modes remain unaffected. We will post updates here when we have more to share.”

The map’s removal was intended to address these problems, ensuring a polished experience for players when it eventually returns.

As of now, Activision has not provided a definitive timeline for Rebirth’s return. However, speculation suggests it could be reintroduced during the next Warzone playlist update, expected on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 9 a.m. Pacific Time (PT).

This timing aligns with the game’s typical update schedule, which often brings playlist rotations and bug fixes. Still, there’s no official confirmation, so it’s possible the map’s return could be sooner or delayed further.
