What to Expect From Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4

It’s been a bit of a mixed year for Fortnite so far. Beginning in December of last year, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 delivered a strong new map, along with some great new gameplay mechanics and some excellent Battle Pass crossover skins, keeping fans invested right up until March 2024. But Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 wasn’t met with quite as much universal acclaim, with fans heavily criticizing the new season’s lackluster POIs. Fortnite‘s current season isn’t faring much better, with Epic Games making the controversial decision to buff cars, and thus reward more frantic playstyles.

But Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 is finally drawing to a close. On August 16 2024, Fortnite will launch Chapter 5 Season 4, and while no official information has been released yet, there have been some pretty major leaks for this upcoming season, leaks that are sure to please Marvel fans.

What Fans Could See In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 Could Revolve Around Marvel

Back in April, well-known Fortnite leaker Loolo took to Twitter to drop a pretty massive bombshell. Loolo posted a fairly blurry screenshot that allegedly depicted Fortnite‘s 2024 roadmap. Though many fans were skeptical when this leaked roadmap was first posted, it now seems as though the leak was legitimate, as many of its events have come to fruition. For instance, this leaked roadmap showed that the first two 2024 seasons of Fortnite would revolve around Greek mythology and an apocalypse, and it also stated that Avatar: The Last Airbender, Metallica, and Pirates of the Caribbean would be coming to the game in that order.

If these leaks continue to be true, then Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 will revolve around another large-scale Marvel crossover, with the leaked roadmap showing Doctor Doom at the center of the season’s artwork. While Marvel has appeared consistently throughout Fortnite‘s lifetime, it’s only had one dedicated season before, occurring all the way back in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 in August 2020.

With the recent release of Deadpool and Wolverine and all the fervor coming out of SDCC, there’s never been a better time for a Marvel-focused season in Fortnite, particularly one in which Doctor Doom will seemingly play a major role. Though official details on this possible crossover haven’t been announced, it seems likely that fans can expect a new Battle Pass filled with Marvel skins, probably bringing The Fantastic Four to the game along with a new Doctor Doom skin. It also seems likely that Fortnite‘s map will get some kind of Marvel refresh, bringing themed POIs to the Battle Royale.

LEGO Fortnite Will Probably Join In on The Marvel Fun

If Fortnite‘s next season does revolve around Marvel, then it seems like a safe bet to assume Fortnite‘s LEGO mode will also receive some new Marvel-themed content. The most likely addition to LEGO Fortnite will be a set of minifigure variant skins based on any new Marvel characters who appear in Chapter 5 Season 4’s Battle Pass. A Gwenpool LEGO skin has already been uncovered by Fortnite dataminers.

Fortnitemares Will Make Its Return in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4

According to Fortnite‘s leaked roadmap, Chapter 5 Season 4 will run from August right up until mid-October. Towards the end of the season, fans can expect to see the release of the next Fortnitemares event, an annual spooky-themed event that coincides with Halloween. There’s no official word on what fans can expect to see in this year’s Fortnitemares event, though recent rumors suggest Friday the 13th‘s Jason Voorhees could appear as a crossover skin.
