School shooting in Wisconsin kills two, shooter also found dead
A teacher and student are among the fatalities after a school shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin.
Two people were killed, a suspected shooter is dead and at least six others were injured on Monday when a student opened fire at Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin, authorities said.
The Madison Police Department received reports of an active shooter at Abundant Life Christian School just before 11 a.m. CST on Monday, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes shared on Monday afternoon. Upon arriving to the school, officers found the shooter dead at the scene, and Barnes said injuries range from minor to life-threatening.
Abundant Life Christian School was evacuated and officers swept the school, Barnes said. No officers fired their weapons and there is no indication of a further threat to the public. Parents and guardians have been reuniting with students at a nearby clinic.
On Monday afternoon, Abundant Life Christian School shared a brief post to Facebook: “Prayers Requested! Today, we had an active shooter incident at ALCS. We are in the midst of following up. We will share information as we are able. Please pray for our Challenger family.”
