Liverpool fans gave Jurgen Klopp one huge final send off in a farewell ceremony this week and Borussia Dortmund supporters have also shown their love for him ahead of the Champions League final.

The German is at Wembley to show his support for his former club, having taken them to their last Champions League final in 2013. They lost to Bayern Munich that day and Klopp lost two further European finals to Saturday’s opponents Real Madrid as Liverpool boss.

Klopp also won two Bundesliga titles, a German cup and a domestic super cup at Dortmund before going on to lift eight trophies at Liverpool, including the 2019 Champions League.

The 56-year-old is planning to take a break from the game after his Anfield exit and part of his year of relaxation starts with the Champions League final at Wembley.

Cameras at the stadium – a venue in which Klopp won the Carabao Cup with the Reds in February – spotted him and put him on the big screens. He was greeted with loud cheers from Dortmund fans, who had quickly started to fill their end of the ground with over an hour until kick-off.

The camera then cut to Jose Mourinho, who received loud boos from the Yellows supporters. Mourinho has faced Dortmund twice while manager of Real Madrid. He won only one of those encounters, losing twice – including a 4-1 second leg loss in the 2013 semi-finals.
