When The Sunday Times Insight Team obtained a list of 5,410 assets belonging to the Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall, we wanted to find out what exactly these plots of land were.
The team sought to identify as many points as possible to gain a full picture of how this land was providing the King and the Prince of Wales with an income. The goal was to produce a map so that readers could see what royal holdings were near them.
Our interactive map shows 1,400 of these properties, the vast majority revealed for the first time. We have assigned categories to each of them: rental houses and flats; parks, woodland and farms; mining rights, mines and drill sites; and businesses, charities, commercial property and
