Titled ‘The Hairy Bikers: You’ll Never Ride Alone’, the bulk of the programme will follow the 46,000 motorbike enthusiasts who travelled from London to Barrow in June this year.

During the documentary, Si King – Dave’s best friend and fellow Hairy Biker – will pick out the key moments of the past 25 years of their TV careers, commemorating a special friendship that would change cookery shows forever.

Si said: “It was a very special show to pull together – full of nostalgia, laughs and celebration of my best friend and his life.”

The one-hour programme will air on BBC Two and has been created by South Shore Productions.

It was announced in the wake of Dave Day that the London and Cardiff-based production company would be showcasing the event in a one-off show.

In memory of the late TV star, who died from cancer in February at the age of 66, motorcyclists from across the UK came together to ride in a convoy to pay tribute to Dave.

The emotional ride was Si’s last as a Hairy Biker following his decision to close the chapter on an incredible 25 years of memories with his biking brother.

Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Factual Entertainment and Events, added: “Dave and Si hold a very special place in the nation’s heart, and this emotional film pays tribute to an extraordinary friendship.”

Archive, new interviews and previously unseen footage will help celebrate Dave’s life, charting a journey that took him around the world, cooking up a storm as one of television’s greatest ever double acts.

Producer Andrew Mackenzie commented: “The outpouring of love for The Hairy Bikers this year has been extraordinary and it was a real honour for everyone who has worked with them to document Dave Day and celebrate Si and Dave’s friendship over the past two decades.”
