Kildare-based IT and telecom company VEI Global has announced 20 new engineering jobs.

The roles will be funded by a combined investment from the company and Enterprise Ireland, amounting to €2 million.

From its headquarters in Naas, Co Kildare, VEI Global delivers IT and telecoms projects across Europe and the United States.

The company’s services include Wi-Fi, networks, security, contact centres, circuit connectivity and 5G.

Clients on the island of Ireland include South Dublin County Council, BT, Vodafone, Phoenix Gas, Keelings and Lynas Foodservice, while international customers include the European Parliament and Computacenter.

Since it was founded in 2010, VEI Global has grown its workforce to 40, while revenues have increased by an average of 22% year-on-year.

The company said that by the end of next year, it will hire 20 software and network engineers who will work from its Irish base.

Co-CEOs Lloyd O’Rourke and Conor Killeen said multi-site, multinational organisations require seamless and streamlined Wi-Fi solutions and must ensure that they are not exposing themselves to increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity attacks.

“At VEI Global, we have been at the forefront of responding to these needs and the expansion of our team will ensure we maintain our position as a global leader in the network connectivity space,” Mr Killeen said.

Leo Clancy, CEO of Enterprise Ireland, said the companies that it works with are economic cornerstones in communities around the country.

“VEI Global is an example of that, and their success is built on their innovative solutions, their ability to identify growth opportunities and their cutting-edge transformative services,” Mr Clancy said.
