Vauxhall that’s 1 of just 3 in existence for sale with original stickers

Must read

A RARE Vauxhall that’s one of just three in existence has gone up for sale in pristine condition – including its original dealer stickers.

The car is just one of 50 ever made, with survivors increasingly hard to find 40 years since it was discontinued.

The Chevette HSR was a special edition of the original Chevette, which debuted back in 1975.

While the base model enjoyed a nine-year production run, the HSR was only made as a one-off in the ’80s.

It came about, like many of the fast Fords of the same era, because Vauxhall wanted to enter one into competitive touring car championships.

In order to qualify, the model had to have at least 50 production examples available.

So Vauxhall did just that, leaving just a handful on the roads.

Now one has appeared for sale on Piston Heads in immaculate condition.

Photos show the red-trimmed black exterior gleaming in the sunshine, with the bonnet lifted to revel a spotless engine bay.

Inside, the tartan and black-leather upholstery give it a quirky air while the cabin echoes the minimalist setup so popular in modern motors.

The listing states: “To find any kind of HSR more than 40 years after they were built is notable; this one even more so as a black car, because it’s reckoned by the seller that just six ever existed – the overwhelming majority being silver like the HS.

“Now there might be as few as three left.

A brief history of fast Fords

“Certainly it still looks eminently presentable while still boasting plenty of original features like the dealer stickers, tartan seats and decals.”

It has also undergone some restorative work, including fresh carburettors and a new exhaust system.

However, the sheer rarity of it does come at a price, with a whopping £60,000 tag attached.

It comes after Ford dropped a pair of teaser images for the new Capri as the model is revived after four decades.

It's now worth a whopping £60,000
