This was the scene on a busy road in York this morning (Friday).
A van caught fire at Clifton Moor, creating huge clouds of smoke over the shopping park and near to the outer ring road.
The occupants of the vehicle appeared to have got out of the cab.
A fire crew were tackling the blaze which has destroyed much of the roof of the vehicle.
It happened close to Tesco and other shops in that section of Clifton Moor.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb attended a van on fire on the main road.
“Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus and two hose reels.”
