Valorant’s new agent was finally unveiled in Incheon, Seoul, South Korea, during the Valorant Champions 2024. The game’s Agent 26, also known as Vyse, has already got the whole community excited.
Valorant’s Vyse is a Sentinel. It will be the sixth Sentinel added to the game as she will join Cypher, Sage, Killjoy, Chamber, and Deadlock.
When will Vyse be released to Valorant?
Vyse will be released to Valorant on August 28 alongside all of the other features included in Episode 9 Act 2.
Vyse’s abilities
As a Sentinel, Vyse’s abilities will focus on supporting her teammates. Looking at her abilities, we believe Vyse is a defensive agent. Although she doesn’t bring much to the attackers, her loadout adapts perfectly to defensive tasks.
Here’s more about Vyse’s in-game abilities:
Arc Rose (E)
EQUIP an Arc Rose. Target a surface and FIRE to place a hidden Arc Rose, or ALT Fire to place the Arc Rose through it. REUSE to blind all players looking at it. This ability can be picked up to be REDEPLOYED.
Shear (Q)
EQUIP filaments of liquid metal. FIRE to place a hidden wall trap. When an enemy crosses, an indestructible wall bursts from the ground behind them. The wall lasts for a brief time before dissipating.
Razorvine (C)
EQUIP a nest of liquid metal. FIRE to launch. Upon landing, the nest becomes invisible. When ACTIVATED, it sprawls out into a large razorvine nest which slows and damages all players who move through it.
Steel Garden (Ultimate)
EQUIP a bramble of liquid metal. FIRE to send the metal erupting from you as a torrent of metal thorns, JAMMING enemy primary weapons after a brief windup.
Will Vyse be a good Valorant agent?
Answering this question minutes after her reveal is difficult, but here’s our prediction.
Vyse has a lot of positive traits. Her Ultimate ability, Steel Garden, is arguably the best she has as it forces enemies to use their pistols. Against a Vyse with her Ultimate ability unlocked, enemies could be forced to use part of their economy to get a better weapon than the Classic, just to be safe.
Arc Rose and Shear seem to be strong abilities for defensive tasks. Meanwhile, Razorvine can be used to protect the team’s flank, with the sound cue of the flash helping Vyse and her teammates to spot an enemy.
Overall, we think Vyse could be a good fit for maps like Bind and Sunset. While her abilities may be a bit short when it comes to attacking, Vyse is a great agent to use while defending. As a tip, we encourage you to use her Ultimate to retake a site after the Spike has been planted. Let’s see how that works!
