Ukraine ‘losing positions’ in Kursk as Putin throws everything at Russian front

Must read

Ukraine has suffered a major setback on the Kursk front inside Russia as Putin throws everything he can at the front to repel the incursion.

Russian sources have claimed that Russian forces recaptured positions in Kursk Oblast. Putin’s soldiers have also conducted an assault in the Kurakhove direction and made advances northeast of Vuhledar in Ukraine‘s Donetsk Oblast.

The situation on multiple frontlines has prompted fears of catastrophe in Ukraine.

A defence source told the Daily Express: “I was speaking to a very senior British Army officer today.

“He told me that Ukraine is on the verge of losing the war against Russia. It’s very serious.”

The Institute for the Study of Was (ISW), a leading Washington-based thinktank covering the conflict gave an update on the situation in Kursk.

Writing on X, the ISW said: “Russian sources claimed that Russian forces recaptured positions in Kursk Oblast. Ukrainian forces recently regained positions in central Toretsk.

“Russian forces recently conducted a reduced battalion-sized mechanised assault in the Kurakhove direction and recently made confirmed advances northeast of Vuhledar.”

Meanwhile, shocking new photos have also emerged after a brutal Russian rocket strike on Ukraine left a city up in flames.

The missiles sent to the southern city of Mykolaiv killed one person and injured 16 others in the early hours of today, Tuesday, October 15. Mykolaiv is about 37 miles from the front line in Kherson Oblast, and the wider Mykolaiv Oblast.

Russian forces used S-300 anti-aircraft missiles to hit the city at around 2.30am local time. Multiple fires erupted around the city – some spanning between 30 and 1,400 square metres.

Governor Vitalii Kim announced that an industrial facility, a restaurant complex, shops, residential buildings and cars had been damaged in the blasts. First responders were able to extinguish the terrifying fires in the residential district, according to the State Emergency Service.

Kim said the Russian first-person view (FPV) drones were downed during the night over Mykolaiv Oblast.

The Mykolaiv Regional State Administration wrote on Facebook: “At night, October 15, around 02:30, the enemy attacked the city, previously rockets type c-300.

“Damaged infrastructure object, restaurant complex, trading pavilions, residential buildings and cars. Fires broke out, elimination measures are underway.

“As a result of the gunfire killed a woman, 16 people were injured, three of them were given ambulance care.”
