Westbury station has been closed since the morning of Saturday, December 7, after parts of the station’s roof were ripped off by the strong winds and then fell onto the tracks.
Chippenham station was then closed at 5pm yesterday due to the line also being blocked following damage to the roof.
Neither station is expected to be declared safe to operate before the end of the day, meaning all services through Westbury and Chippenham have been cancelled.
Customers who had been planning to travel from Chippenham have been advised to travel to Swindon, where road transport will be available.
Limited road transport is also available from Chippenham for customers making local journeys towards Bath Spa, Swindon, Melksham and Westbury.
No rail replacement road services will operate between Westbury and Swindon or Bristol Temple Meads, due to the unsafe road conditions.
A yellow weather warning first issued by the Met Office on Friday remains in place in the area until 6pm today.
A spokesperson for GWR said: “Due to severe weather at Westbury all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
“Due to severe weather at Chippenham the line is blocked. Trains running through this station will be cancelled.
“Following red and amber weather warnings in relation to Storm Darragh on parts of our network, we are advising customers to change their plans if possible this weekend.
“Strong winds mean speed restrictions will be in place across the network, increasing journey times. Fallen trees and other debris may also impact services.”
