Ahmedabad: Chandkheda police on Wednesday arrested two men at the Narendra Modi cricket stadium for alleged involvement in gambling, during the eliminator match of the Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. According to the first complaint filed, police received a tip-off that a man was involved in betting and was sending ball-by-ball updates to another man.Police went to Block Q on the upper level at the stadium and found Kartik Chawla, 35, a resident of Uttam Nagar in New Delhi, using his mobile phone to send details to another man from Delhi, Raju Singh. Police booked Chawla under the Prevention of Gambling Act. In the second FIR, Natwar Dayma, 25, from Solapur in Maharashtra was caught placing bets on a gambling portal from Seat 219 in Row F of Bay 9 in the President’s Gallery at the stadium. Chandkheda police arrested Dayma under the Prevention of Gambling Act. tnn
