Turkey holiday warning as tourists told ‘travel insurance could be invalidated’

Must read

Brits planning a trip to Turkey have been warned that their travel insurance could be invalidated if they visit certain areas. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has advised against “all travel” to some parts of the popular holiday destination.

The country has been hit by “extreme temperatures”, with wildfires recently breaking out in southeast Turkey. But while holidaymakers were still being warned about the heat, a warning on salmonella has now been removed.

Currently, the FCDO said “fighting and a heightened risk of terrorism” had led to it advising against “all travel to within 10km” of the Turkey-Syria border. There was also advice against “all but essential travel” to Sirnak city and Hakkari Province.

Those traveling against FCDO advice were warned: “Your travel insurance could be invalidated. The embassy staff cannot travel to areas where FCDO advises against travel to help you in person. Staff can offer support by phone and email.”

For those planning a summer getaway, Amazon has slashed the price of the ‘stylish’ and ‘sturdy’ Kono Luggage 2 Piece Luggage Set. Antler’s best-selling Clifton Cabin Case is also the perfect size for TUI and Jet2 flights, and also fits the size requirements for a ‘large’ cabin bag set by Ryanair and EasyJet.
