TRSNMT day two: Travel warnings and stage times information

Must read

The second day of Scotland’s biggest music festival is set to kick off in Glasgow amid major cuts to ScotRail services.

TRNSMT got underway on Friday with Liam Gallagher taking to the Glasgow Green stage to close out the day one with thousands of delighted fans.

Gerry Cinnamon will be headlining the main stage for the second day after a string of artists play to thousands across four different stages.

Many festival goers will have had to change their plans due to ScotRail cutting services across the weekend.

As the second day gets underway, here’s everything you need to know including stage times and rail services.

ScotRail TRNSMT services

The rail operator is currently operating on a temporary timetable that means fewer services are running across the country.

Ahead of the festival ScotRail warned that normal services will be cancelled as it seeks to provide a “reliable” service in the face of crew shortages.

It confirmed that “trains currently advertised may not run” as timetables for the weekend are still being prepared and loaded to journey planners.

Customers have been urged to check trains after 10am on Saturday, July 13 for the confirmed timetable.

Under the temporary measures only around 1,600 services will be operating between Monday to Saturday.iStock

ScotRail said overtime has historically been needed to deliver a normal timetable of more than 2,250 services each day.

However, fewer drivers than normal are taking on overtime or rest day working as part of the ongoing pay dispute.

Under the temporary measures only around 1,600 services will be operating between Monday to Saturday with customers warned to expect a change in some first or last trains and the number of services provided during the morning and evening peak times.
