At least four people have been injured after a tram derailed, ploughing into an Apple resell store in Oslo.
The first wagon of the vehicle can be seen inside the four-storey building right in the centre of the Norwegian capital, next door to a McDonald’s branch.
The tram had come from Jernbanetorget before derailing at the intersection in Storgata and crashing.
Footage from inside the shop shows part of the ceiling collapsed, while shelves with computer equipment are seen strewn across the floor.
The doors and most of the front of the Eplehuset, Norway’s largest Apple reseller, are ripped apart.
Smoke can also be seen rising from the wreckage as emergency services workers cordoned the site.
Demolition worker Thomas Larsen said he was driving down the street on an electric scooter, towards the tram, when it derailed in front of him.
‘I hit the brakes. Three seconds later, I would have been under it,’ the 41-year-old said. ‘It is scary that this could happen in the middle of the city.’
André Nerheim told VG.no passengers had to be rescued out of the tram in the moments after the crash.
He said it was very ‘dramatic’, adding: ‘I was standing at the pedestrian crossing at Anton Sport.
‘The tram came running next to me, and then I saw that the tram, which was supposed to run to the left, drove straight ahead and into the Apple House.
‘There was a huge hole in the wall and passengers had to be helped out.’
Firefighters and paramedics are currently at the scene where the driver and four passengers were being treated.
No one was reported to have sustained serious injuries.
There were around 20 passengers onboard the tram at the time of the collision at about 11am local time, according to police.
Police had to evacuate the entire building before it has to undergo checks for any structural damage.
