Town centre B&M to move into old Wilko’s building

B&M is set to move to a bigger location in a Lincolnshire town, creating 25 new jobs. The discount retailer is moving from it’s current spot in Gainsborough to a “bigger and better” location in Marshalls Yard.

The announcement comes after shoppers requested a bigger store in the town, B&M said. It will be moving to the building that used to be occupied by Wilko’s




The current Gainsborough store, on Lord Street, will close on July 17. However, shoppers won’t have long to wait until the new store opens.

The Marshalls Yard store will open its doors on Saturday, July 20, with local charity Feeding Gainsborough taking centre stage to unveil the new shop.

Amy Jones, Assistant Centre Manager at Marshall’s Yard, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming B&M to the centre, which will enhance the range of essential goods we can offer to our customers.

“The investment also means a significant number of new jobs for the area, which is great news for Gainsborough.”
