Tottenham star Yves Bissouma and his wife were reportedly attacked outside of a French hotel as the £30million man was allegedly tear-gassed and had his £260,000 stolen.
The Sun claim that the former Brighton midfielder sought refuge inside a five-star hotel in Cannes, where the pair were spending their summer holiday after the Premier League season drew to a close.
Two hooded men were said to have descended on the 27-year-old as he got out of his car at 4am on Promenade de la Croisette. Bissouma attempted to get into the hotel and protect himself and his wife, but the doors were locked.
It was alleged that the assailants sprayed tear gas in Bissouma’s face before then tearing a watch worth £260k off his wrist, leaving the Spurs star and his wife shocked as they sped away in a car.
French police are said to have since opened an enquiry into the incident, while Bissouma and his wife have since returned to England early from their trip.
Bissouma has seemingly confirmed his arrival back at the club, posting a picture of himself on Instagram undergoing treatment to his right leg, after picking up an injury in the 2-1 win over Burnley on May 11.
He missed the controversial post-season friendly against Newcastle in Australia due to the issue, instead travelling to the French Riviera before being attacked.
