Tokmanni Press release 28 May 2024 at 4:45 p.m.
Tokmanni will celebrate its fully refurbished stores in Uusikaupunki and the ICCO shopping centre in Pori with plenty of special offers and surprise buckets filled with product gifts. In Uusikaupunki, the opening will be celebrated on Thursday 30 May, and in Pori one week later, on Thursday 6 June 2024.
The refurbished stores feature the discount retail chain’s newest store concept, which emphasises quick and easy shopping. To enhance the customer experience, improvements have been made to the shelf layout and display of products and product categories and to the signage in the stores. In addition, in Pori, the garden department, for example, is now in a much better location from the perspective of customers.
The renovated stores are clearly larger than a typical Tokmanni store. The Tokmanni store in Uusikaupunki has about 4,200 square metres of space and the Tokmanni in the ICCO shopping centre in Pori has about 5,700 square metres of space.
Large stores make it possible to feature very comprehensive product ranges, focusing in particular on home improvement, interior decoration, clothing, detergents and cleaning products, seasonal products and beauty, health and wellbeing.
The renovations mean that the store assortments are now even more varied than before. For example, the Tokmanni store in the ICCO shopping centre in Pori now stocks more fishing equipment than before. The product assortments of both stores have been supplemented, according to customer wishes, with enough Miny products to fill an entire shop-in-shop department. Launched by Tokmanni in 2022, the Miny lifestyle brand’s assortments include a diverse range of beauty, wellbeing and interior decoration products and other surprising and interesting things to buy. Similar shop-in-shop departments, containing over 1,000 products, can already be found in more than 40 Tokmanni stores across Finland.
Both stores already had a shop-in-shop department of the Click Shoes shoe chain, which is part of the Tokmanni Group.
“The purpose of our improvements has been to improve the customer experience and respond to our customers’ wishes even better. Our stores in Uusikaupunki and the ICCO shopping centre in Pori are now even more pleasant and our products are better displayed. We have also introduced products from our Miny lifestyle brand and, in Pori, even more fishing equipment,” says Timo Heimo, Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain at Tokmanni.
“We think our improvements have been successful and we believe our customers will also like them,” he adds.
Mia Järvinen is the Store Manager of the Tokmanni in Uusikaupunki and Virve Kilpeläinen the Store Manager of the Tokmanni in the ICCO shopping centre in Pori. Customer service in both stores will be taken care of by about 25 retail sector professionals.

A recycling point and a host of other smart choices
Tokmanni stores offer a range of smart energy choices and services that make customers’ daily lives easier. The stores in Uusikaupunki and in the ICCO shopping centre in Pori have recycling points for customers’ discarded batteries and small electrical appliances such as coffee machines, shavers, electric toothbrushes and light bulbs, for instance.
Tokmanni uses modern LED lighting and other means to ensure energy efficiency. Waste is minimised by optimising product order volumes and deliveries, for example. In addition, food products that are about to expire are sold at substantial discounts.
In all Tokmanni stores, customers can also make purchases through the Tokmanni Tukku B2B sales function and the Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program. Customers can also pick up orders made through the Tokmanni online store and withdraw cash when paying at the checkout.
The loyal customer benefits of Tokmanni’s popular Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program, which has over 3.6 million members, are available in all Tokmanni stores.
