WNBA (1 Unit) Minnesota Lynx -5.5 @ Phoenix Mercury (-110; Odds via DraftKings): 9:00 PM CT on ION
Alright Lynx, let’s keep it rolling here. This line is shorter than it should be based on the possibility of Brittney Griner and Rebecca Allen making their returns for Phoenix, but I’m not convinced they’re playing or that it will matter. Not against this combination of defense and now offense that Minnesota is deploying nightly, with three straight blowout wins where they’ve been on fire from deep.
That includes a 24-point win over the Mercury who struggle to defend the 3-ball. Phoenix has started to look like the low-expectations team they’re supposed to be, and with the Lynx playing hard for the Commissioner’s Cup cash, I think they win handily again.
WNBA (0.5 Unit) Indiana Fever -2 @ Washington Mystics (-110; Odds via DraftKings): 6:30 PM CT on ION
This needs to be the opportunity for Indiana, who has had plenty of time off to bounce back from getting destroyed by New York, and prepare for a terrible Mystics team. The league’s only winless team is as bad as they seem, and simply can’t shoot well enough or score at a level to take advantage of Indiana’s leaky defense. Washington should be without their best player Shakira Austin again, and without her will really have nobody to exploit the Fever’s bad interior defense. It’s put up or shut up time for Indiana, and I’ll back them on this short price to exploit the only team truly worse than they are.
MLB (0.5 Unit) Cleveland Guardians/Miami Marlins Over 7.5 (-120; Odds via DraftKings): 6:10 PM CT on Bally Sports FL
I don’t trust either starting pitcher in this game one bit, and think both could surrender plenty of runs tonight. Particularly Ryan Weathers for Miami, who goes up against the offense that’s second in scoring against lefthanders like him. Weathers has also been rough at home, giving up a 5.33 ERA in what’s considered a pitcher’s park so this great Guardians offense should have success tonight. But Cleveland’s Logan Allen has mostly been a gas can himself this season, so I have to believe even the weak Marlins offense will get something going against him. With a very low total, it’s worth expecting poor pitching to get this one over.
