Stuart McCullaghAn Oasis obsessive who named his son Liam has told the BBC he has cleared his credit card to try to grab “as many tickets as I can”.
The band delighted fans with news of a reunion earlier this week, with tickets for gigs in Manchester, London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Dublin on general sale on Saturday.
Stuart McCullagh, from Chelmsley Wood, West Midlands, has Cast No Shadow lyrics tattooed on one leg and lines from Stop Crying Your Heart Out on the other.
Wife Sarah said: “He’s like a 13-year-old girl who’s into Taylor Swift. He’s just obsessed.”
Stuart McCullaghMr McCullagh, whose calf tattoo of Liam Gallagher is still healing, first saw the band at their iconic gig at Knebworth in August 1996.
He remembered taking a day off work and borrowing his dad’s credit card to secure his spot.
He has seen them five times since, once queuing for 32 hours outside the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham to get tickets for the Be Here Now tour.
“He’s missed my birthdays because he’s arranged concerts with his mates,” Mrs McCullagh said.
“He’s spending money on tattoos. My 7-year-old child even says he’s got a headache because he’s constantly listening to Oasis or Liam or Noel.”
Stuart McCullaghThe superfan said he planned to get both his older children, wife and son’s girlfriend on the phone on Saturday, with tickets predicted to sell out fast.
“I’ve cleared my credit card so I’ve got a grand limit and I’m just going to try and get as many as I can,” he said. “I’ve just got this horrible feeling I’m going to be one of the unlucky ones.”
His wife said that, while she preferred the Stone Roses, she would go to the gig with him “because it’s going to be iconic”.
