The US Department of Justice has charged three men, including one Iranian, over a plot to assassinate Donald Trump.
The department released details on Friday of the plot to kill Trump, now the president-elect, on the campaign trail in September. The freshly unsealed charges include details of criminal allegations against three people over the plan, and other designs to murder Iran-linked political dissidents in the US.
Farhad Shakeri, Carlisle Rivera and Jonathan Loadholt were charged with murder for hire. Rivera and Loadholt have been arrested, while Shakeri is still at large and believed to be in Iran.
