Three men have been arrested after a disturbance forced a flight to return to Edinburgh.
Officers were called to Edinburgh Airport on the afternoon of Friday, July 5, after being made aware of an incident on board a recently departed Ryanair flight for Lanzarote.
Three men, aged 22, 22, and 21, were arrested in connection with the disturbance.
Two of the men, a 22-year-old and 21-year-old, were charged with numerous offences.
The other man was released without charge.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a disturbance on board a flight which had departed from Edinburgh Airport during the afternoon of Friday, 5 July.
“The aircraft returned to Edinburgh and three men, 22, 22 and 21, were arrested.
“One of the 22-year-olds and the 21-year-old were charged with a number of offences and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
“The other 22-year-old was released without charge.”
A Ryanair spokesperson said: “This flight from Edinburgh to Lanzarote (5 July) returned to Edinburgh shortly after take-off as 3 passengers became disruptive inflight.
“Crew called ahead for police assistance, who met the aircraft upon return to Edinburgh Airport and removed these disruptive passengers, before the flight continued to Lanzarote.
“We sincerely apologise to passengers for any inconvenience caused as a result of these disruptive passengers.”
