Thomas Tuchel will NOT become Manchester United manager despite his meeting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, it has been claimed.

The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss met with the Red Devils’ minority owner in Monaco amid major doubts over Erik ten Hag ’s position. It was suggested that Tuchel laid out plans for what he would do should he replace the Dutchman.

That involved ideas on how he could revive the Old Trafford careers of Jadon Sancho and Mason Mount. He pointed to his work with Antonio Rudiger as an example.

Despite the lengthy conversations between Tuchel and Ratcliffe, it appears that the German will not be moving to Old Trafford after all. According to The Telegraph, Tuchel will not take the Man United job should he receive an offer.

It is further detailed that Tuchel wants to take a break from football after his exit from Bayern. The 50-year-old only left the Allianz Arena last month.

His departure was announced before the end of the season, with talks reportedly being held over a u-turn. Eventually, an agreement could not be found and he was replaced by Burnley boss Vincent Kompany after Bayern paid the release clause in his deal.

Tuchel has previously signalled his desire to return to the Premier League at some point in the future. Speaking last month, he said: “It is no secret that I loved it at Chelsea, I loved it in England, and I loved it in the Premier League for sure. I was a very, very special time in England, and I remember it well.”
