This Morning has shared a statement about Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard’s return, revealing when the presenting duo will be back on air.

The stars have been taking a break from the show for the summer, though ITV has now announced that they will be back on air soon.

More specifically, they will return this coming Monday (September 2), while fellow presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will be back next Friday (September 6).

ITV has also shared a new promo of Ben and Cat alongside Alison and Dermot in which they play with a drone on top of the Television Centre.

Speaking about the clip, This Morning editor Martin Frizell said: “Full credit to our promo team for this idea and execution. I know that it was no mean feat getting a rather large sofa and four hosts up on the roof during one of the hottest days this summer!

“We all couldn’t be more excited to welcome back Ben, Cat, Alison and Dermot post their summer break, and I know all had great fun filming this promo,” he added. “Their energy certainly matches the fresh and bold content the show has coming up.”

Ben and Cat have been replaced by relief presenters over the summer, including Alison and Dermot, as well as Josie Gibson, Rylan Clark, Joel Dommett, Rochelle Humes, Sian Welby and Craig Doyle.

The pair recently took over as the main presenters of the show following the departures of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield last year.

Speaking earlier this year about moving from Good Morning Britain to This Morning, Ben said that he looked forward to “not having to get up so early and to be able to have a lie in”.

“But seriously, it has to be the people,” he added. “From the team to the guests to, of course, Cat – it’s all about the people. I’ve worked with many of the team on and off, but to work with them full-time is very exciting.”

This Morning airs Mondays through Fridays on ITV1.
