MCM Unites with Honey Dijon for a Retro and Pride-ful Capsule Collection

Honey Dijon is an icon in the music scene and an icon in the LGBTQ+ community. As a Black trans DJ, Honey Dijon (born Honey Redmond) broke numerous barriers in the EDM world, slowly building her reputation in the Chicago and New York City techno scenes, before eventually soundtracking runways for shows like Dior and Louis Vuitton and even winning a Grammy Award for her work on Beyoncé’s Renaissance.

Now, in honor of Pride month, the Illinois native has teamed up with MCM for a new capsule collection, which was inspired by the DJ’s style and includes four bags and two new shirts.

“I wanted to create a dissertation on travel and style,” Dijon said. “The merging of utility, beauty and craftsmanship. Creating a collection infused with legacy pieces, I wanted to resurrect the chic era of travel, seamlessly blending timeless elegance with modern sophistication.”

Across these new pieces, the brand’s “Modern Creation Munich” motif is repeated in a rainbow of colors, adding a vibrant touch to their sleek designs. You can shop the collection here.

Dolce & Gabbana and Havaianas Are Making Your Walk to the Beach a Lavish One

Speaking of vibrant designs, Dolce & Gabbana is ready to start the summer off right with a new collaboration with Brazilian sandal brand Havaianas. The two brands teamed up for a limited edition line of flip flops, which feature four D&G-style patterns splashed across the signature Havaianas silhouettes with a velvety finish.

The four featured patterns include a zebra print, a leopard print, the Blu Mediterraneo print, and the Carretto Siciliano print. All the pieces are on sale for $138, and you can purchase them here (but act fast, because certain designs are already selling out).

AMI Paris Debuts First Line of Sunglasses Just in Time for Summer

If the luggage or flip flops weren’t enough to have you reserving your next summer vacay, maybe this new line of sunglasses will be the news that convinces you to hit “book.”

AMI Paris has just unveiled its first range of sunglasses, which made their debut in the Spring/Summer ’24 show and have now gone on sale to the public.

Named 75001 (after the zip code of Paris’s first arrondissement, where AMI was founded), this foray into the world of eyewear includes a range of shades in colors like black, shell, cream, and cashmere blue.

A release from the brand states the solar glasses are “defined by the fusion between the modernity of [their] extra-flat curves and timeless aesthetics—while the beveled machining allows a subtle contrast and a play of light.”

You can purchase these shades at the AMI Paris boutiques or at select retailers.

Simon Porte Jacquemus Gears Up for Special Honor Following Winning Capri Show

It’s been a good couple weeks for Simon Porte Jacquemus. Just this past Monday, the fashion designer held the 15th anniversary show for his namesake brand in Capri, Italy, where stars like Dua Lipa, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley filled the front row (and Blackpink’s Jennie casually made her runway debut by closing out the show).

But even before that, the French fashion designer had much to look forward to, as it was announced at the end of May that he will be honored by The Museum at FIT with the 2024 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion on September 4.

The luncheon, sponsored by Nordstrom, will take place at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City. As per usual, this event will kick off New York Fashion Week and act as a benefit for the museum.

“I am really happy to receive the 2024 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion supported by Nordstrom, it’s a beautiful recognition for the brand and my team,” Jacquemus said in a statement. “As an independent designer, I was always keen on being innovative and creative in the design of my collections and also in my communication. It’s always about communicating and creating experiences with our community in a unique way.”
