The Vivienne fans have called for RuPaul to take a ‘powerful’ stand against season two winner Tyra Sanchez after she made ‘disgusting’ comments about the drag star’s death.

The drag performer, whose real name was James Lee Williams, tragically died at the weekend aged 32 following a glittering career when they won the inaugural season of RuPaul ‘s Drag Race UK in 2019.

In the wake of tragic news, Sanchez, whose real name is James Ross, took to X to share a series of nasty tweets in response to a 2020 message written by The Vivienne.

The Vivienne’s old tweet from nearly five years ago said: ‘Bet Tyra was fuming when she Realised Netflix Spoiled the win Too. Sorry gal. You Tried though.’

Digging up the historical tweet on Sunday, Sanchez wrote: ‘Yet it doesn’t compare to the fumes of the crematorium.’

The shock comment received a flurry of criticism from furious fans and now Drag Race host RuPaul has been urged to strip Sanchez, formerly known as King Tyra, of her crown following her win on the second season of the US show back in 2010.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, furious fans have made their thoughts clear, with one even starting a petition to oust her of the title.

They penned: ‘I think #RuPaul should take the crown from Tyra Sanchez and give it to #Raven in a symbolic but powerful act. The level of disrespect that girl has, already crossed all limits with her comments about The Vivienne. Do the right thing Mama Ru

‘Dethrone Tyra Sanchez’; ‘Strip Tyra Sanchez of her Crown for Disrespecting Late Queen – Sign the Petition!’

‘@RuPaul take away Tyra Sanchez’s win now. The s**t she posted had no right to allow her to stay in the hall of fame, she is a disgrace to the planet and to the fandom and you should discard anything related to her as you did Sherry Pie. Letting this slide is a big f**k up.’

‘Sign the petition to have Tyra Sanchez removed as the winner of season 2 of Drag Race.’

However, in response to the backlash, Tyra responded with a foul-mouth tirade as she insisted she didn’t ‘give two f**ks’ about the crown or title before slamming RuPaul and the show.

She penned: ‘Calling for a crown/title that I could give two f**ks about is stupid. You’re the only ones caught up in that fairytale. It means absolutely nothing. Y’all been hollering 15min for 15 years. F**k that crown. F**k @RuPaul F**k @RuPaulsDragRace F**k @WorldOfWonder and f**k you too!’

It comes after after RuPaul paid an emotional tribute to The Vivienne after the Drag Race star’s death.

He continued: ‘These are words I never ever wanted to write. Viv was a close friend, a client and someone I loved very much.

‘From the moment I met them in 2019 I knew we could create magic together and I became their manager. Their talent was immense and the light they brought to every room was astonishing. No one has ever made me laugh as much in my life as Viv did. Their comic genius and quick wit was like no other.

‘I’m so proud and lucky that Viv was such a big part of my life everyday for the last five years. It’s tragic that their career was only just beginning. In musical theatre Viv had found a space and career they loved, excelled and thrived in.

‘I am heartbroken and devastated at this news. RIP my wonderful friend. You left us way too soon.’
