Congratulations are in order for The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton, who has given birth to her first child, Penelope.
The reality star appeared on the second season of Claudia Winkleman’s BBC murder mystery gameshow as a Faithful, and ultimately lost out to Traitor Harry Clark who walked away with £95,150.
Posting to Instagram, Charlotte, 32, confirmed the birth with a picture of her newborn daughter’s hands.
She wrote: ‘Princess Penelope has arrived and we have been enjoying our ‘Penelope bubble’ so much,I am going to be off the radar for a little longer, whilst I enjoy these magical moments with my precious girl!!
‘Thank you to all that have checked in to make sure I am ok!! 💗 my heart is full xx’
Family, friends, and fans rushed to congratulate the new mum who revealed she was pregnant in April, after suffering seven miscarriages and failed IVF with her ex-wife.
‘Yaaaaas buzzzzing! Congrats! 😍,’ wrote fellow Traitors star Brian Davidson.
Initially, she kept details about her baby’s father a secret, before revealing he is the singer Conor Maynard, and that he will not be raising the baby with her.
‘I’m prepared to do this alone, but I’m not prepared to have my daughter have to grow up and not be able to say who her father is, or should I say, birth father, or hide it from her,’ she previously said.
‘She deserves to know where she comes from. I’m not a secret, she’s not a dirty secret. I won’t be silenced.’
Charlotte has now announced she’s given birth to her daughter Penelope, having revealed her planned name during her pregnancy.
After announcing her pregnancy in April, Charlotte, who also suffers from a condition called trigeminal neuralgia, told Metro.co.uk it was a ‘blessing’ and a ‘miracle’, saying: ‘I’m grateful to be having a baby. I didn’t think I was ever going to be able to reproduce.’
She’s kept followers updated with her pregnancy in the months that followed, including health difficulties she’s faced.
In August, she revealed she was suffering from an ‘exceptionally painful and extremely debilitating’ condition and was hospitalised.
‘My pregnancy began and has continued to be complicated,’ she told fans.
‘I was already high risk but in the last few weeks I have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, my blood pressure is high and on top of this I have developed a pregnancy rash which is reaction to my hormones.
‘This is not very common it’s known as #puppsrash and it had spread to my whole body again very rare.
‘This has been exceptionally painful and extremely debilitating!!’
Charlotte also said she’d developed SPD, a form of pelvic pain, that left her ‘completely immobile some days’.
She added: ‘Thankfully Penelope is doing amazing! Lots of monitoring and scans show she is is progressing perfectly!’
Charlotte threw a baby shower last month, and celebrated welcoming Penelope to the world with several of her The Traitors co-stars, who have frequently shared their messages of support to her social media posts.
The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
