The Traitors season 3 spoilers follow.

The third season of The Traitors continued its fast start, with three players being eliminated in the second episode.

The BBC reality show returned on Wednesday (January 1), with an early shock as three contestants – Alexander, Fazia and Jack – were eliminated before they even set foot in the castle, with this twist being followed by the first murder as Yin was axed.

It wasn’t long before the first banishment ceremony took place, with Thursday’s (January 2) instalment showing that Nathan – a Faithful – was the unlucky player as he was voted out of the game.

This delighted the three Traitors – Linda, Armani and Minah – as they were safe for another day, with the trio soon getting back to work as they were tasked with murdering another player. After much deliberation, it was revealed that Keith was the victim when he didn’t turn up for breakfast.

“It was a low blow, and I was the one who suggested him! None of the Faithfuls would ever vote for him,” reasoned Armani in regards to their choice, with Keith saying of his exit: “It’s a shame. I was probably murdered because the Traitors saw me as a threat.”

The group had to dust themselves off quickly, however, as they participated in their first challenge of the season. They were required to topple a giant statue of a cloaked figure with the use of gunpowder, which was acquired by successfully answering questions.

In addition to adding money to the prize pot, there was another incentive as host Claudia Winkleman revealed that there would be no murder on the night should they succeed in their task. The group subsequently completed their task, adding £6k to the pot in the process.

The drama wasn’t done there, however, with another banishment ceremony taking place. After a heated debate, Elen – another Faithful – became the seventh contestant to leave the show already, with the Traitors still having their full quota…

The Traitors airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
