The LEGO Harry Potter games are getting remastered, again

Must read

Back to Hogwarts has begun and as part of the celebration of Harry Potter, a next-gen remaster of the LEGO Harry Potter games is coming soon.

It’s a big day for Harry Potter fans as the showcase for Back to Hogwarts 2024 has been revealed, confirming plenty of upcoming projects based on the Wizarding World. The video includes a small but notable amount of LEGO news too, the crux of which is a new remaster of the LEGO Harry Potter Collection

The combination of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-8 is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S on October 8. A new trailer for the remaster has been released and this is the second remaster for the collection to date.

Video Games Chronicle reports that the remaster will support 60 FPS, native 4K resolution as well as haptic feedback on PS5. They also claim that owners of the collection on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the next-gen remaster at a discounted price.

The new collection is said to be under the helm of Double Eleven, instead of TT Games returning for the remaster, but this was also the case for the PS4 / Xbox One remaster too.

This announcement joins the rest of the LEGO Group’s Back to Hogwarts celebrations today, including some tempting offers to grab online and in stores. The non-LEGO portions of the Back to Hogwarts showcase embedded above may be worth watching too.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
