‘The First Descendant’ Adds Two Season 2 Heroes, Is Working On ‘Jiggle Physics’

Must read

While I have not been playing The First Descendant as of late, due being a bit exhausted with the farming, the game is marching on with new seasons and new features, including one its playerbase has been asking for. Given the title above, you can guess what that is.

But first, we can go through what’s being added in this upcoming season 2, including its new heroes.

  • The new Descendants are Keelan and Ines Raya, a double-feature this time and the first new male hero added to the game. Keelan has toxic abilities, joining Freya in that category, and Raya will be coming later.
  • The new ultimate hero this time will be Sharen, where her newly enhanced skills will let her throw daggers in a 360 degree circles, and have boosted movement speed, reduced cooldowns and getting stealth back on kills. She can also avoid traps now. It seems to be a major improvement for one of the game’s worst heroes. She will also have her own story quest, which is a thing for new Ultimate editions now.
  • The new intercept battle is “Deep Void” which will regenerate its parts and enhance its abilities. It will reward colossi-themed skins, a rare earned cosmetic in the game.
  • There is a new Void Vessel dungeon where a boss named “Dread Armor” needs to be killed. This is how you get Keelan and a new companion dog named Fellow.
  • A new ultimate weapon is the Hammer and Anvil, which is a shotgun that transforms into shooting an explosive round when you aim down the sights.

But what is not in the season 2 list here, because it’s not launching with season 2, is the confirmation that yes, The First Descendant is getting “jiggle physics” for its characters, a game that has always focused on let’s say, the female form with its designs and outfits. This was confirmed in the game’s Discord, but will be an option, rather than something auto-applied at all times. It’s meant to answer a long-running fan request and it is certainly a game where the idea seems applicable. Here are the developers via the Discord on the topic:

“After a lengthy discussion with the AD today, a decision has been made to add the much-requested ‘Jiggle Physics.’ This was decided only a short while ago, so the details of when it will be implemented in the game are yet to be finalized and will be shared in future updates.”

I would love to be in the room when the concept of jiggle physics was being debated at length, but The First Descendant has always leaned into this sort of thing, recently removing some fabric on an outfit to make it more revealing on fan request. You can’t say it doesn’t know and cater to its audience, so here we are with this new and seemingly inevitable development. But given that it’s only been decided recently that it’s happening, it may take some time to arrive.

Until then, a jiggle-less season 2 launches on December 5.
