The Apple Watch Series 10 has been unveiled – here’s how to pre-order

Must read

Apple has just announced a new Apple Watch Series 10 smartwatch that boasts the largest display of any Apple Watch ever at its flagship September event alongside four new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro smartphones and new AirPods 4.

Replacing the Apple Watch Series 9, the all-new Apple Watch Series 10 smartwatch features an OLED display for bright and accurate colours, but more interestingly, it can detect the signs of sleep apnea by using the accelerometer to analyse breathing disturbances.

Unusually, Apple didn’t launch a new version of Apple’s extreme sport-focused Apple Watch Ultra or a more affordable Apple Watch SE, simply releasing a new satin black colourway of the existing Apple Watch Ultra 2 and a new smooth, titanium metal band in black or natural titanium.

The latest smartwatch launches next week – here’s how much it costs, plus when you can pre-order the new Apple Watch Series 10.

The all-new Apple Watch Series 10 features the biggest display out of any Apple Watch ever, making it bigger than even the Apple Watch Ultra. Boasting an OLED screen, it’s 40 per cent brighter than the previous model and 10 per cent thinner. And for the first time, you can play music directly from the Apple Watch’s speakers. It features faster charging, getting you an 80 per cent charge in just 30 minutes.

The S10 chip powers Apple’s most talked about features, such as automatic fall and crash detection, and the Translate app now comes to the Apple Watch, so you can have speech detection translation features directly from your wrist. The biggest new feature is that it can now detect if the wearer has signs of sleep apnea by looking for breathing disturbances as you sleep.

It also has a new built-in depth gauge sensor, so you can see the depth level up to six metres as you swim, as well as the water temperature, making it ideal for snorkelling. A new Tides app also shows high and low tides, as well as sunrise and sets. Sleek and lightweight in an all-metal case, there’s a lot added to Apple’s latest smartwatch.

The Apple Watch Series 10 starts from £399 for the aluminium model – that’s the same price as the Apple Watch Series 9 – and from £699 for the all-new titanium model. It goes on sale on 20 September and is available to pre-order now.
