Tesco has announced it will be bringing back its Kids Eat Free scheme to its 317 cafés across the UK over the May half term. The supermarket’s cafes will be offering one free Kids Hot Meal Deal, Kids Breakfast or Kids Pick ‘n’ Mix deal with each item bought by an adult from as little as 60p when showing their Tesco Clubcard or Clubcard App at the till.
Popular menu items include beans or avocado on toast, fish fingers, baked chicken goujons or a sandwich. Hot main meals include a vegetable side dish, and the sandwich pick n mix includes a piece of fresh fruit and two snacks, so there’s something healthy and satisfying to feed hungry children from breakfast until dinner.
Claire De Silva, Tesco head of communities, said: “We know that some parents worry about the extra expense that school holidays can bring. Offering free meals is one of the ways we can support families during this time and help give children a stronger start.”

In 2023, Tesco provided more than 440,000 free meals to children and families during school holidays. Kids Eat Free is just one of the many ways that Tesco is helping families spend less. Over the last year, Tesco has led the way on passing on savings to customers by cutting prices on over 4,000 items by an average of 12 per cent.
And with hundreds of items price matched to Aldi, and thousands of exclusive deals offering up to 50 per cent off through Clubcard Prices, Tesco is committed to helping customers save money on their shopping.
The terms and conditions show Tesco shoppers get one free Kids Hot Meal Deal, Kids Breakfast or Kids Pick ‘n’ Mix deal per item purchased by an adult in The Café for dine-in only, and a child must be present. A Clubcard/app is also required.
The deal runs from 27/05/2024 – 31/05/2024 but the offer is subject to availability and kids meals may vary in cafés.
