A teenager slit his classmate’s throat and injured at least four others in a shocking rampage at a school in Russia.
It was reported that the 13-year-old boy entered the school in Chelyabinsk and began “randomly beating up his peers”.
One girl was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the attack at the school, near the Ural Mountains.
The victim, named as Valeria E, lost consciousness after she was hit on the head by a hammer and had her throat slit.
Another three students were also injured in the attack along with a teacher.
Biology teacher Nina Shoshina tried to fight off the boy and was left wounded.
The suspect, named as Roman G, was detained on site before being taken to hospital.
One student required emergency surgery due to her injuries.

Shoshina said that the attacker “ran into the Biology room five minutes before the end of the lesson”.
She said he was armed with a hammer and pistol.
The teacher added: “He didn’t say anything, he just screamed.
“I immediately started screaming to stop him. I ran up to him, but the girls were a little faster. He hit both of them on the head with a hammer, then I got hit on the arm, shoulder and head.”

The other wounded students were reportedly named Andrey V and Maria R, both 13.
A grandmother of one of the wounded girls said: “He went into the classroom, sat there for a while, came out with a gun, an axe, a knife – and this is what happened.
“How did they let him into the school? I don’t understand. It’s just horrible.”
