Taylor Swift travel options to Murrayfield gig – including train, bus and tram

Swifties in Scotland are sure to be counting down the days until they get the chance to see Taylor Swift take to the stage in Murrayfield later this month.

As well as excitement, fans will be ensuring they are prepared, including getting their travel arrangements in order. The good news is there is no shortage of trains, buses and trams that are promising to transport concertgoers to Murrayfield Gas Stadium in Edinburgh between June 7 to 9.




Those with early entry tickets can get into Murrayfield from 3pm, with doors opening to regulars at 4pm, according to Scottish Rugby. With the gig expected to last until near midnight, having travel plans in order is essential for an enjoyable experience.

ScotRail has confirmed that it will “strengthen” services through the weekend of Taylor Swift, which includes adding extra train carriages and running later timetables.

Additional late-night services will operate from Edinburgh to Glasgow, Dundee, Dunblane, and Perth, with the last train to depart Edinburgh for Glasgow Queen Street at 00.12. Additional carriages and seats will be available on afternoon trains through Fife and the Borders.

Haymarket train station is expected to be busier than usual and passengers are encouraged to buy return tickets before travelling either online on the ScotRail app or in person at machines.

Once your train gets into Haymarket, which is located in the west-end of the city centre, it is a 20/30 minute walk to Murrayfield. Commuters can also take the tram with the Murrayfield Stadium station just one stop away from the station.
