The iPhone is still top dog if you want a super premium smartphone but there are a batch of new Android devices that are perfect if your budget won’t stretch to a call maker from Apple. Motorola is well known for shaking up the market with feature-packed devices at lower prices and now there are three more to add to the list.
The company has just confirmed the release dates for its new moto g15, moto g05 and moto e15 which will arrive next year and start from as little as £69.99 – that’s over 10 times cheaper than an iPhone 16.
Despite that very low price, they all come with extras you won’t find on some Apple devices that cost hundreds more. For example, the £69.99 moto e15 features a massive 5,200mAh battery inside which is bigger than the power pack tucked inside the £999 iPhone 16 Plus.
Both the e15 and £89.99 g05 also get 90Hz screens which should offer slicker scrolling than the 60Hz display found on the standard iPhone range. Opt for the more premium g15 and you’ll be treated to a device that features a huge battery, impressive 50MP rear camera, stereo speakers and a 6.7” Full HD+ display for just £139.99.
Of course, these new Android devices don’t get iOS or the latest Apple Intelligence upgrade – which makes performing tasks such as photo editing and sending emails smarter and faster. They also don’t have the new Camera Control button on the side and they won’t feel anywhere near as premium as an iPhone 16.
However, if you simply want a phone to send a few texts, browse the web and reply to some emails then they look pretty tempting.
They go on sale from next January.
